For all appointments and general inquiries, please telephone the office on 03 9421 5044.

You will require a letter of referral from a registered doctor. Please remember to bring the referral, along with other information supplied by your referring doctor, including reports, X-rays, CT and MRI scans. It is also useful to bring any information relevant to your medical history, such as current medications, allergies and medical problems.

All new patient appointments will be confirmed in writing. A patient registration form will accompany the letter. The registration form is to be completed prior to, and brought with you, to your first appointment.

Mr Ton sees patients who are covered by private health insurance for surgery in a private hospital and Veterans (DVA gold card) or Veterans (approved conditions)

Mr Ton does not consult on patients with compensable injuries (Worksafe or TAC) or for medico-legal purposes.

If you do not have private hospital health insurance and would like to be seen as a public patient, you may request your local doctor or specialist to refer you direct to the Specialist Consulting Clinic at The Alfred Hospital, Prahran.

Mr Ton operates at numerous hospitals.

Consultation Fees:

Payment of the consultation fee is required at the time of the consultation.

If you have a valid referral, a portion of your payment is claimable through Medicare if eligible.

Surgical Fees:

If you are a member of a health fund who participates in a gap-cover scheme, the fee for your surgery will be forwarded direct to your health fund. However, you will incur a co-payment or “gap” fee. This account will be forwarded direct to you, and is not subject to any Medicare or private health fund rebate. If your health fund does not participate in a gap-cover scheme, your account will be forwarded direct to you for payment. The co-payment varies depending on your procedure and health fund, and will be quoted at the time of booking your surgery.
